So I've turned 21!

This Friday my friend treated me to the cinema as an early birthday gift, so we saw The Phantom Menace in 3d!
Last time we saw it was when it came out(12 years ago, omg), so it felt kinda nostalgic.

Bought my favourite cake and totally indulged haha! But hey, birthdays are always an exemption from diets and such.

I'm for once kinda excited going back home, because my bd gift to myself is waiting for me!
New shoes and a bag, I'll post pictures when I get back. It was my first time ordering from yumetenbo!

Oh well, I'll go back to listening to ladytron - seventeen now, haha.

Gotten down to norrkoping again!
Unfortunately the route I usually take has inflated extremely after the new year, from ~400sek to ~1000sek, so we had to take a route that took about eleven hours instead of six (´Д` )

The same night we left the temperature dropped like crazy and it's been gradually getting colder with an average of -35C! Uh.

Well anyway, you know when you see something and you think "oh, I'd like to have that!"? Had that feeling about a pair of timberland knockoffs I saw in a street snap some time ago. And what do you know! I found some! Just 99sek since they were from the kids department, and on sale!

Perfumes

All ladies(or well, most) loves perfumes, and I'm no exception.
Though, my mum is hypersensitive to smells, so I've never really gotten into actually using them. I remember nagging her for a raspberry scented EdT when I was a kid, and when she finally caved in she got this huge asthma attack because of it. Ow.
That doesn't mean I don't buy some though! And I try to remember using them as often as I can.

These are my favorite ones, and really the only ones I own haha.

1. Vivienne Westwood's Boudoir EdP

It's so heavy but so wonderful! I only use it during winter though.

Me and a friend found it in one of the fancy drugstores along omotesando, for a super discount price! 2500yen! It usually goes for 50€ or something, so it was a real thrift haha.

2. Sarah Jessica Parker's Lovely EdP
The first perfume I ever loved! Celebrity scents are usually.. Not.. a favorite of mine, but this one smells so lovely of flowers that I can't help myself!
It's a very light scent, but it lasts for so long~

3. Lily of the valley solid perfume
Lily of the valley has always been my favorite flower, and I've searched for such a perfume for ages, so imagine my joy when I found this over at Loft a couple of years ago! It smells a 100% like lily of the valley! The best thing about solid perfumes are that they last forever, I think I bought this in summer 2010 or something, and you can barely see the bottom, and there's been no changes in neither texture, color nor smell. And at 800yen that's just awesome.
This is also the only one of my perfumes my mum can stand, so it's the one I currently use..

New layout and lampy goodness

As usual my layout is a bit ever changing and nonconstant, but I think this'll do good for a while! It's simple, it's orange (?!) and it has one of the giraffe studs I bought a couple of months ago featured, haha!
I'm truly lost when it comes to layouts nowadays, everyone have so pretty ones, and I just can't come up with anything..
I didn't do it though, the credit all boils down to my ex-roomie that I bribed with liquorice.

Went to the Republic of Jämtland the other day, and saw my grandma! She surprised me with this really pretty lamp, saying she had promised me it before.. I have no recollection of it whatsoever, but hey, it's a really nice lamp!

In Sweden there's some craze going on about Castor Oil, which has made it sell out in nearly every drug store, and of course I had to jump on the bandwagon! Long, thick hair? Yes please! It's only what I've longed for ever since I made the bad decision chop of my navel lenght red hair and get an orange shingle bob eons ago.
An aquintance wrote about it on facebook and claimed her hair had grew 2centimeters in 2 weeks! When I looked up some blogs wsriting about it, everybody had gotten such nice results in just a matter of weeks, or months.
I used it for the first time tonight, so hopefully by this time next month I'll have some results~

Northern lights!

Thanks to the solar storm the other day, we had some Northern Lights!
I was surprised to be able to photograph it with my digicam!
They did of course not turn out as great as the ones you usually see, but, anyway, I'm happy with them!

One of the few nice things about living in Sweden is the possibility to see this, haha.
Did you know that if you whistle during northern lights, it becomes more intense?
It's not scientifically proven though, pretty much nothing about it is, except for "Hey, they're like, moving and stuff".

Happy new year everyone, I hope your new years eve was awesome!

The days leading up to new years eve was amazing, I visited the town I grew up in and got to meet my chums again! It's been over 2 years ago since I last met most of them!
But that's what's great, even though we haven't met, or even stayed in regular contact, we all just met up and it was like we were in high school again.

For new years me and Zara(who visisted me last winter), went down to visit another friend and celebrate new years together!
Of what I can remember it was a lot of fun, haha.

Anyway, this was what I looked like!
It was a house party(i.e: I didn't really feel like whippin' out the ball gown), so I might not look as fancy as most people did on NYE haha.

On monday school starts, and I haven't gotten hold of the books yet, ahh.

Annnd! As the title told, this is the 300th entry I made on this blog! Woh!

I update so seldom nowadays! That sucks, and I should do something about it. I guess it's because I don't really use my laptop anymore, the poor thing has gone unused because of the iPhone. And the blogger app kind of sucks, so..

Well it's soon Christmas! I'm going back home after a visit in the south tomorrow and I'm looking forward to spending Christmas with my mum again, this'll be the first time in two years!

I'm working on getting school out of the way, and by the looks of it I should be able to have finished pretty much everything by spring, but I'll have to take language courses someplace else since my municipality doesn't offer any.

Anyway, as the title suggested, here's three recent gets!
Between Christmas and new years it's swedens craziest sale, but since I don't think I'll be able to go to a city during that time I did some shopping at the pre Christmas sale.

Yet another monday

Hello again! Back at home now, trying to survive rabid kittens. Seemingly they've missed biting my nose so much they are making up for lost bites now, haha.
I made a favicon the other day too! It's .. half-assed, but I'll work on it.

While in Norrköping, I went to see the Tintin movie! I was surprised how good it was, while my friend was surprised how it weren't as good as he had thought. I guess it's because I expected a silly childrends movie, and my friend expected something super serious for adults. Since it was something inbetween, there's no surprise to why we thought as we did..

When I went to my dads, I got a pair of winter boots! And a scooteroverall(for really cold days/fishing), but it isn't worth a picture haha. Loving these boots! They look a bit big though, but that's only because they are, you gotta have room for all them wooly socks!

The day before I came to my mothers house, it had snowed! So we made a monkeysnowman. Unfortunatly it started raining the other day so it's kind of lopsided now. I got great plans for an epic snowcave though, so as soon as the snow really starts coming, I'm gonna bring out my blueprints, haha.

Also, I've started crafting again. More specificially, crocheting. And I bought a bunch of different ribbons today so I can make hairribbons, I've always thought it's better to do them yourself than buying, most of the time atleast.. Anyway, crafting is a great way of wasting time, when there's nothing else to do, haha.

Long time no shopping

And also, long time no updating. Slumping hard lately, it's hard not to when living in the middle of a forest, and the highlight of the week is going grocery shopping, haha.

At my dads place now though, and we went to the local mall! The only positive thing with living with my mother is that I don't have to use my money for bills and rent.. So I finally got to do some shopping! Woo!

And yes, that IS a white bowler hat, and I think it's absolutely amazing!

Got the books I ordered last week! George Orwell's Animal Farm, and Etgar Keret's Kneller's Happy Campers!
Animal Farm is one of those books that's always taken at the library, and everytime I see it in a bookstore I'm always short on money. Kneller's I ordered because I love the movie based of it(Wristcutters, a love story), so I'm excited to read the novel!

Going down to Uppsala later this week to celebrate my best friends 20th birthday! I'm really excited to properly see her again, and well, to get out of this village, haha.

Finally Dorothy shoes!

Like most kids I always wanted those amazing shoes of Dorothy(The Wizard of Oz).
Everytime I found something red and glittery they've either been stripperheels(which felt a bit off) or kiddie shoes in sizes way tiny. But today I visited a fleamarket, and I found some red glittery ballerinas for just 5 SEK! Completly new, and allthough not exactly like the movie shoes, good enough for days when I just wanna tap my heels togheter.

Got a pretty jewelry box that matches, too!

So, starting new in sweden, eh.
When I moved from Tokyo I threw away -alot- of things in order to be able to actually bring anything. The mood is still there it seems, so I'm going through my old stuff, trying to get rid of most.
If anyone's interested, check out my Tradera, I'll add stuff regulary, and it'll be everything ranging from vintage, rave, weird stuff, to japanese stuff, so. Well. yeah!

Cleaned out my wallet today too, realised there were no reason to carry around gazillions of point cards I can't use. And boy, there were alot! My wallet weighs nothing now!

Oh, and it's autumn up here.. I love it, but it's so very very cold. I kid you not, it's even cold inside the house! I dug out my mums lusecardigan despite the fact that I hate itchy clothing because it's the only thing that'll keep me somewhat warm.

Red Cross bargain

Went by the local Red Cross shop(in Sweden it's common that localities have a Second Hand shop where proceeds go to the Red Cross).

Managed to snag some things up, 2 pair of shoes, a maxi dress and three scarves.
The scarves were the best though, 3 for 10sek(approx 100yen). One with flowers, one with wagons and one paisely!

Country life

So, my fifth/fourth day back in Sweden. Everything is going suprisingly well! My bag finally came yesterday, so now I can dress, haha.
I'm pleased that I'm not torn apart inside over leaving Japan, since I thought I'd be completly depressed, haha. But I think I left at a good time. Two years is a long time, and the last 6 months I didn't do anything. I want to live in Japan, but I want to do something, school, work, anything, and right now there's nothing there I can do. I'll soon be back there, anyway!

Things are rolling on good here, thankfully! I'm gonna join the local gym, the last two years haven't been nice to my body, but hopefully with some exercise and home cooked meals I'll be healthy and fine in no time! And next week I'm going to start taking driving lessons!
Gonna sign up for adult school this week too!

Life Lesson: Moving

Moving from one side of a continent to another is a pain in the butt when you wait until the last day, and your mother isn't there to be all awesome and smart and help you.

My flight leaves in 22 hours, the apartment is a mess and it's like the laws of physics doesn't apply anymore.

Someone pleaase invent the shrink ray!

I'm a hoarder by heritage, so the fact that I am actually throwing away things makes generations of my family scream in anguish from the other side, haha.

Ueno Zoo

So, last friday Martin & Malins school were going to Ueno Zoo! I decided to come along, to finally see the pandas!

I love zoos, but it's so depressing. People often talk about japanese pet shops, and that they live in small cubicles.. Well, those pets atleast get a new home rather quick, the animals in the zoos live there their whole lifes, running around in circles.

Nevertheless, animals are exciting, and apart from that my heart stung a couple of times, it was great fun!

Just went out and bought a bucket load of one of my favorite beauty products! Shirokuma eye plasters! But the majority isn't for me. My mom told her friend about these and how much I raved about them, and asked me to buy her a bunch!

I'll do a review about them, or well, post before and after pictures! I haven't used them for a few weeks to let my dark circles come back in order to properly show the effect..

Shopping therapy

Came up with the wonderful idea to show away the feelings about leaving Japan!
Or, well, to shop for autumn. If I'd stay stay in Japan I wouldn't be able to wear anything autumny until perhaps October, but now, I'll be able to wear it in two weeks!

Went by g.u (oh how I will miss thee lowcost shoppingparadise!!), and bought two pieces that I've already planned for. These will go completly unused until the day of arrival. They'll both be in my carry on luggage, ready to be taken out and worn as soon as I hit Swedish ground.
They might not look like much, but they're both made in "cashemere touch"(closest to the real deal I'll get!), so it'll be comforting to have something warm and snuggly, I believe!

The cardigan is rather big/long, so I'll throw in a thin belt and voila, ready!

As usual I amaze my surroundings by having death fights with vacuum bags to be able to fit my stuff into boxes to ship off, while at the same time buying more things with the mantra "I'll bring these in my bag, I need these for fall/winter!".

The departure date is getting closer everyday, and with it comes mixed feelings. I love Japan, this is where I want to be. Naturally, that means I'm plenty upset about leaving. And while I dislike Sweden in so many ways, there'll be good things about it too. Both Japan and Sweden have their pros and cons, so I guess it'll all be good in the end.
I'm trying my best to keep my spirits high about leaving, by thinking about all the bad things about Japan(cockroaches! humidity!), and things in Sweden I look forward to.

So here's a small list of what I'm longing for about Sweden!

1 Food
Of course, swedish food is something I've been craving ever since I left. While teriyaki, sushi, onigiri and ramen is all very delicious, there's just something about the food you've eaten since you were a child, right? I'm preparing mentally for a weight gain of about 5-10kgs when I come to sweden.. (No, not really! Haha)

2 Friends and family
Allthough my friends are sparse but amazing, and my family small and complex, I miss them all, and it will be one of the best things about returning! Being the "runaway" on my "special adventure"(i.e omg I lived in Tokyo!), homesickness haven't been a top priority of mine, but I know how much my mother and father have missed me, so being able to see them again is going to be fantastic!

3 Fresh air and amazing tap water
When I lived in Uppsala(Swedens 4th biggest city), I complained a bit about the air, that was rather dirty compared to my hometowns. After living in Tokyo for 2 years, I'm thinking my lungs will burst by the clean air! Also, I hardly ever drink tap water in Japan(omg the chlorine taste!!), so being able to drink the tap water at my mums house, that goes from a spring in a neighbouring mountain(yes it's THAT village-y!), will be like drinking tears of angels, I believe.

4 Kitties
Cats are my favorite animal, hands down. I haven't had a cat for 4 years now! And although Japan is filled with cats, they are all very scared, and unlike japanese people, doesn't approach you for a snuggle. And the cats at the cat cafés I've visited are rather .. uninterested in humans. My mom got a cat lady right after I left for Japan, and this spring she got kittens! Although I didn't get to actually be there, my mom uploaded pictures everyday for me to see their growth! Kittiekittie!

These are the two I'll get! I'll either take them both, or just one.. Or none, depending on what kind of apartment I get..

I might make a list of what I wont miss with Japan, for my own sake. It could be good looking at it when it feels too hard.

Fall wants from F21

Surprisingly enough, the brand that has grown the most on me while living in Japan is not a japanese brand, but an american! Forever21 doesn't have stores in Sweden, and the shipping costs are crazy, so I never really experienced F21 until moving here, and it quickly became a place were I did alot of my shopping. Unlike other overseas brands(like H&M), F21 is still reasonably priced and have a lot of simple, cheap and cute pieces to put together.

Fall is coming up, so I decided to make some collages of things I wouldn't mind wearing!

One other thing I'd add, is loads of dark green stuff. I've been completly obsessed with that color lately, but I have yet to find some nice things sporting it.

Doing this reminded me I need to go by F21 someday before leaving.. Just about 2 weeks left now!

New notebooks and small towns.

Even though I don't go to school at the moment, I bought two new notebooks the other day! They're so pretty, and were just 100yen/each, so how could I resist?

Vintage labels and old maps!

And yesterday I somehow found myself at a concert. Upon arrival I found out that the bassist of the band we were there to see works at my konbini. The levels of embarrassment/surprise is through the roof! That man has seen me buy chocolate in the middle of the night, in my pajama, without makeup. Dancing, superdrunk, sick, dressed as a goth, etc etc. And now suddenly he was a real person, in a band that I was about to see. The situation was rather awkward, but he turned out to be a really cool guy, and his band really good!
Luckily for me, when people heard that he worked at "My konbini" at the after party, he was the one being bullied, not me.
Tokyo is indeed a small town, sometimes.

I really really really wanted to be able to wear a Yukata when going to the fireworks, but unfortunatly grown up things like paying the gas bill came up, and set a stop for buying something I'd only wear pretty much once, so I went in my normal clothes.

Fireworks and meat coma

Today has been great, but I'm in such a meat coma I can't think straight.
What I did was to go to the Sumida River Fireworks Show, and afterwards I ate Shabu Shabu.

Exciting times! After a long time of social withdrawal, I actually went out and met some friends today!
Met up a friend who stopped by Tokyo for a day on her way home to Korea after a very eventfult eurotrip, and in lack of better wording, it was truly delightful to be out and about!
I can't really remember the last time I actually carried a conversation in Japanese, even though I live here. Terrible, I know.

Long time, no purikura!

First time I took purikura without the "bihaku"(beautiful white) setting, I didn't see which level they put it on so I was kind of afraid it would be the level that adds a fake tan, haha.

Fika at Madam Blå

A couple of times when we've gone on day trips to places like Disney or Aquariums, we've transfered at Tokyo station. Almost everytime we walk past this little café called "Madam Blå", but we never had time to find out what it really was, and why it had a swedish-sounding name.

When we went to Disney last week, for once we had time to go get some coffee there!
Turned out it was a Danish/Scandinavian café, with some classic Scandinavian meals!
We didn't have time to actually eat there, but saw in the menu that they had crisp bread, different scandinavian salmon dishes etc. And the coffee they used was Swedish!
On the pricey side though, so I guess I'll resist swedish food until I go back.

The guests left early this morning, and well, during their stay we watched 3 seasons of Friends. But we also went to Disney Sea, which is always awesome! No pictures from that since well, I've posted a bunch of that already since previous visists.

Instead, here's a few things I've bought recently.

Oh man I love these shoes. Shimamuras Sorridere shoes is the BEST. SO comfortable!

Corduroy shorts I've been oogling lately.

Although it's shorts, it's actually autumn shopping. I'm trying to buy some bits and pieces before my return to Sweden since I anticipate winter clothes to be in the stores when I get back. And also because it's easier to find good stuff here, haha.

Kind of messed up with the shorts though, just grabbed the corduroy shorts in what I thought was my ordinary size, but tried on the red ones and realised, I'm a size smaller than before! Of course I forgot to change the corduroy ones for a smaller size.. I like the baggier look on the corduroy ones, tho.
Was really surprised, seeing how I haven't been dieting or anything. I guess it's because I'm not harrassing my psyche with the scale and the constant "I can't eat this! There's stuff in it!"

Showing just a little bit is my awesome Harry Potter t-shirt, that is awesome enough to get much more space on it's own, in a later post.

Announcement

It's been decided upon for a while, but I didn't want to write it here until the ticket was booked, since I figured that'd be final.
On the 15th of September I'll be moving back to Sweden.
Booking the plane ticket was terrible. Even though I'll be going back to Sweden to fix things in order to go to a japanese university, it still feels terrible, seeing how it'll take atleast 2 years until I can come back here. (edit: 2 years, because I need to finish school in Sweden)

I've been living in Japan for two years(heading to sweden about a week before the two year anniversary), I've grown into an adult here, I've been living my lifelong dream. Tokyo life isn't all roses, but it's what I've always wanted.

In Sweden I will live with my mother(at first), which is wonderful, to hang out with mom and stuff. Only problem is that she lives in a village up north, population about 30people(all 50+). Nearest friend will be 500km's away. So.. going to that, from Tokyo will be rough.

In other news, I said I'd to what a 15year old does, while my friends little sister is here, and that seemingly is to sleep until 5 everyday. Gonna try and adult it up and get us up earlier from now on!

For a very long time now, I've been on the hunt for a wristwatch. I've been very peculiar about what kind of watch I wanted, so it took it's sweet time.
But tonight I found it when going to the 100yen shop! (I have the habit to look into every shop that displays watches), and alas, it became mine for just 1050yen!
It's not exactly what I wanted, but it's the closest I've found so far!

Life is uneventful right now. We're tidying up the apartment since the roomies little sister is coming here this week. So from friday and two weeks forward I'll probably jerk around doing stuff that 15year old girls do on vacation in Tokyo, it'll be exciting!

So alas, today again we went out in search for a wifi café. This time we had luck! Sakura café in West Ikebukuro doesn't only have super cheap coffee, but they also have a pavement café with a smoking area, it's connected to a hotel(Sakura hotel, I've heard it's good for its pricerange).

My roomie bought an iPad yesterday, and since we don't have a wireless router we went to a coffeeshop in the neighbour hood to mooch free wifi.
After seeing an iPad in all it's shiny glory I really want one myself! But I'd have a hard time to justify it to myself, maybe if I traveled more..

Went to Takadanobaba today with my friend Malin, for Shimamura and the freshly opened Donki.
I finally got my hands om some collartops! (although the navy one is from a shop in Nakano, and is a dress), a nice airy chiffon skirt(with dots! and pleats! and width!) and the best of all, a flowerprint bag. Been eyeing these kinds of bags for quite a while now, and also wanted a bigger bag. I found one at Shimamura, where it hung high over my reach. Fortunatly Malin is taller than me and she managed to knock it down, along with some dust. How long had it been there?

Over at Donki I found the Diamond nose shadow-set that was released a couple of months ago, seriously, it's been sold out everywhere since! I've looked high and low for it, but finally I found it. Hopefully this long wait is gonna be worth it!

Jishuban Club Instore event - KGF

Finally, some new glasses! My old one broke some days ago, so I promptly went to buy new ones.
A friend recommended Zoff, and I will too recommend it. Cheap(mine were 5250 incl. everything!), and super fast, 40 minutes after choosing I got my glasses, and easy, just write down your name and telephone number.

I know they're huge, but thanks to that I think they go greatly with any style. Hipster/vintage, fashionista, gyaru, even grandma-style, a style I rocked when going to the konbini this morning.

Also, as you might notice, my hair is a bit lighter. Not what I was aiming for, but well, I'll roll with it.

Oh and lastly. Went to Shibuya yesterday(first time in ages!) with my roomie Martin, decided to go buy H&M for purely patriotic reasons, and stumbled upon 100yen sales stuff! No idea why I bought the red tights, but hey, 100yen!

Discovered 2 months ago that I'm sensitive against nickel. Thankfully, H&M's jewelry are all nickel free!

I went to the Ghibli museum today, can't really say anything about that. It was fun though, but I'm not really a ghibli fan(gasp! Blasphemy!) so that whole "omg I'm in a Miyazaki movie!"-trance didn't really grab me, haha. If you like Ghibli however, I'd recommend it!
Afterwards we stumbled around Inokashira Kouen for a while, and ended up in Kichiouji, it was the first time I was there, and there I'd really like to go back!

Anyway, pictures from the day. Photography is prohibited inside the museum but it's allowed on the roof, where the Laputa robot is, so that's pretty much what I have.

Went with some people to Oretachi no Toririn, it's another branch in the "ore"-network(remember my old hangout place Orenchi Koi in Takadanobaba?). As with the other location, the feel and staff in the place was awesome. Spent a few hours there being confused over that the names of the cocktails was changed around, and played cards(I became president!).

I have a profound fondness for scarves. However, I barely own any at all, which sucks.
But I had been eyeing one at a local shop for a couple of months, and while waiting for a friend in their cool airconditioned shop I saw it was still there, hidden behind a bunch of other scarves! Destiny I believed, and so I bought it!

Since it's brown, and that k ind of pattern is something that's always in style one way or another, I can't think of it as anything less than an awesome purchase. (Oh and it's HUGE, so that's why there isn't a picture showing it off completly, I simply don't have room in my apartment to photograph it in all it's glory)

My friends Martin & Malin went to Tokyo Disney Sea with their school yesterday, unfortunatly I couldn't come with them, bills to pay, etc. But, all is good! They bought souvenirs!

The Aristocats figurine set is actually from Disney Resort Paris! Import and all that, wickeed! The child in me screams "OPEN IIT!" the adult collector in me says "Keep it mint condition!!". Decisions decisions.

And a Duffy bear! Finally! Since I first set eye on the cuddly amazingness that is Duffy my heart has been crying for it, and now I got my very own, in the perfect size to attach to my bag and always have with me ♥

So once again summer has arrived to Japan. Truthfully, it's the one time at the year that I really don't wanna live here. It's hot(30-45degrees celsius!), it's humid(through the roof!) and I don't understand how the japanese can survive it, and still look fresh. Whatever product they are using, y don't u share?!

Anyway, japanese summer means that I have my hair up, all the time. Not a day with my hair down, nono. My thin, fine scandinavian hair is not optimal for this weather, less than half an hour outside and it looks like I just showered.

But thank Cthulhu for asia and the abundance of pretty hair accessories!

So, on friday night I came back. It was a nice trip, and especially nice to meet some friends I haven't met since the eartquake!

I suck at doing touristy things when touristing, but I did see two statues, and went to Myeoung Dong(the tourist trap of Seoul).
The rest of the time was spent in Hongdae and Dongdaemun (recommended).
I won't write about it really, but if anyone has a question, just shoot!

So.. I've been quiet for a while. Biggest reason is the humongous virus my computer got that ate everything. Thankfully I managed to back everything up.. But still, stings a bit.
And the lesser one is that I'm going to South Korea tomorrow, but honestly that have nothing to do with me not blogging, since I haven't really started doing anything yet. I've written a list though! (If you got advice on what to do during a 4day trip to S Korea, please do tell).

Family Restaurants are great for studying, the tables are often large, + for a small fee you can get "drinkbar" wich is basically all you can drink for as long as you stay.

Decided to try and be a bit more active, not blogwise necessarily but more.. life.. wise..
So I went to Nakano today with Malin, and was later joined with Martin.
Nakano is, really, a great place. Cozy atmosphere and so much different things. Clothes for all tastes (second hand shops, brand shops, military shops, etc etc), nerdy stuff, music(one of my favorite music shops is in Nakano, called Mekkano, there they have electronic music from all over the world), and much much more. When you're finished shopping it's also filled to the brim with bars, izakayas, host clubs, well, anything really.

Anyway! Did some shopping at my favorite places, and as usual I wasn't let down! Three dresses and a skirt for 2000yen alltogether!

Looking at this picture I realize how much a pair of circle lenses actually does for your look. It's my usual makeup, but without the lenses it doesn't look at all as extravagant.

Anyway, it isn't about the makeup anyway, it's about the hair! Trying, as usual to do something about it, but I have to say that this time I kinda like it. It maybe isn't the style I was aiming for, but, regardless, it's something else than straight hair!

Cravings from the motherland

It's raining, the kind of super wet rain that soaks you from just looking at it, and a typhoon is seemingly on it's way. Because of that I don't really have anything to do but think about...
Candy!

Some things all swedes, when moving abroad, misses the most is probably Marabou Chocolate, crisp bread and pick & mix candy. I miss all of them, alot. However, both chocolate and crisp bread is available at IKEA, and it's rather easy for family/friends to send.
What I really really miss is the candy. Even though I sometime get some sent to me, it's just not the same, you know? It's the whole feeling about it, mixing your own bag, to fit just the kind of candy cravings you have right then. And it's cheap, too. Last time I checked it's about 1000yen for a KILO of candy.

However, I have indeed encountered pick & mix candy here in Japan though. But, well, not the same really. You can choose from a whopping 5 different candies(!), all hard candies, and you can put them into a tiny teeny little bag, and then it costs 160yen.

Well, better than nothing I guess.

Walked to Ikebukuro today with a friend, for some more suit-searching, and a drink. However we decided to jump into G.U, wich is a new store that just opened, it's a part of uniqlo(I think), but even cheaper. Crazy prices! So I didn't find a suit, but I decided to reward myself for being quite good with all the CV sending and stuff, so I bought some new things~

The skirt is too awesome! And at 990yen I couldn't walk away without it, the shoes were 690yen(!!), also bought a t-shirt and a cardigan for equally ridiculous prices, but they're really plain haha.

Kyokutou Girl Friend and Sayonara Party

So last saturday me and my roomie went to see the band Kyokutou Girl Friend at Holiday Shinjuku. Since they are disbanding rather soon they have a weekly live thing, and we went to volume 2. Other bands playing where, 　トーマス(thomas),　ヴィデオグラマァ(video glamour),　LIPCHLICH, ドクターマルモット(Doctor Marmot), F’Ar÷EAST†KANφJO(Kyokutou Girl Friend alterego band), コドモドラゴン(Kodomo Dragon). First band was the KGF alterego band, wich was rather entertaining since they came up in early Visual Kei type of costumes (orange wigs, too much black makeup etc) and did some covers of that kind of bands.
Since it was Kyokutou Girl Friends event, the rest of the time was waiting. 6 hours of waiting to be exact. I had great hopes for both Doctor Marmot and Video Glamour but none of them were as I expected, so I was kinda disappointed.
When finally Kyokutou came up on stage all I could think was "I'll be going home soon!!", but disregarding that it was fun seeing them again, seeing how it was a bit over 2 years since I last saw them.

Oh how we hassled the staff woman, seeing how Martin wanted to buy fifty-eleven copies of everything they sold, haha.

After the concert, when I thought I was going home, we instead ended up going to an acquaintances Sayonara party, she's going back to Korea. It was fun and cozy as it always is(they usually have homeparties in her guesthouse). Me and my roomie decided to walk home instead of taking the train, and somehow the less than an hour long walk ended after 7 hours, walking all around the northwest part of Tokyo.

I know everyone has probably seen this already but I think it's funny!

So that was a lengthy post about nothing in particular!
My everyday life right now is a rollercoaster of one moment having so much doubts about myself(I barely graduated junior high, and now I'm trying to get a job?), to being super confident(nothing matters but willpower! I can do it!).

No updates as of recent since, well, stuff. Been occupying myself with watching Twin Peaks, finally! Nagged my roommate about it for almost 2 years and a couple of days ago the coin fell down and he realized it was a Lynch product, so he finally succumbed.

Anyway, went out to Ikebukuro today! Here's what I got:

Rather excited to try out the BB cream, I've read so much good about BB creams.
Summer is coming rapidly and maybe I just suck at putting on makeup but when the heat really starts going sometime in June it just melts of my face, I figured that wouldn't be the case with a matting BB Cream, so I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Went to Koenji yesterday with my roommate, in search for an art book shop, he was looking for some books by a japanese guro artist, wich we found, and wich quite surprised the people working there. "You know about this guy? But how!"
I found some interesting stuff there myself, that I'll probably go back to get someday.

Anyway, yesterday there was a lot going on in Koenji, hula dancers, clowns, and all different stuff were out, so it was good fun.

Yesterday I went bookshopping with a friend, oh how I've missed it.
There's a great used bookshop in Takadanobaba that sells english books.
Got hold of a novel collection with Robert Louis Stevenson, Journey to the centre of the earth by Jules Verne and after looking for it in two countries for one and a half year Fight Club. My roommate wont allow me to watch the movie until I've read the book for reasons only he knows, haha.

I enjoy to buy books second hand, I don't mind that they are worn out, it makes me feel connected to other people who's loved them as much as I do.

So, anyone who's been around me for the last year or two knows that there's one thing I've been obsessing about, one thing that I've had my eyes on, and not just the usual "I want this!" but in the "I need this to be able to survive this cold world!!"-kinda feeling. Yes, that dramatic.
Jeans shorts. This country has been mocking me about it. What do girls wear in summer time? Jeans shorts. But here in Japan it's also autumn winter and spring. Everywhere I go, there they are!
But alas, not having the booty of a japanese girl I've been unable to find a pair of my liking or size(who likes muffin top anyway?).

Until yesterday. The lights shone down at them when I walked into Forever21, angels sang.
Not really but omg I found a pair thats just the right size, and at the amazing flabbergasting price of 1050yen!

Strange things happen

You know, you think you have things figured out, that you have a grip on how things work, but alas, you learn something new!

Since Saturday I've had like a strange itching and redness, and no idea what was going on at all, not experienced it before. So today I finally went to the hospital, and voila, it's an allergic reaction. Not so strange, right, seems right. The strange thing is that I don't have any allergies. But according to the doctor it's quite common that people without allergies get allergy symptoms from time to time.

So in true japanese fashion I got a bunch of meds and got told to that if it didn't clear in two weeks I should come back.

The antihistamins are making me sleepy so I just wanna crawl into bed and watch X-files.

Lounge legends

What do I do nowadays, no school, no job, in Tokyo?
I lay at home. Every single day.
I could say that I'm lounging about at home listening to yeye artists and enjoying life & practising my french but even though it's true it would probably make you have a much more elegant image in your head, than my sweat pants and flannel wearing self actually am. But please do!

To my excuse I can atleast say that I've been sick pretty much nonstop for a month now.

But yesterday I braved out in order to eat with a couple of friends in order to say good bye to another friend who's moving away for some time.

I have been planning to take thousands of sakura pictures to send my mother(she loves 'em), but alas, I have myself only seen the one on the way to the konbini basically.

Awesome surprise concert

For a few weeks now my roomie had been bugging me about this upcoming concert.
Telling me we really really should go, and that he thought I'd really really like the band.
He never told me the name though, or gave some more info than "they play with other bands you like!".

So yesterday we went to Ruido K3 in Ikebukuro for this "secret" live where I found out the band name was へーけ(Hke). Didn't ring any bells. However, in the queue I was thinking "What a diverse fanbase!" since there were both young people and reaally old people and all that.
When we got in he immediatly said "let's go to the merch table!", and there were 2 CDs, an armthingy and some chekis(polaroids).
"Look closer at this CD, check the track list!" I did. Kotani Kinya covers. Wtf I thought. Looked closer. "Remixed and mastered by RIU" ..
RIU. RIU. WTH?!?!

Yeah! The live my roomie had kept so secret for me for so long was infact the second live of my biggest idol of all time, RIU(ex. Metronome, MaitoreiA).

Jikes! I grinned like this: ^___________________^ the entire evening.

So へーけ? It consists of Riu on bass, Kotani Kinya(you read right!) on vocal, Takefumi from Filter Fish on guitar and a support drummer I really recognize. Since they're so new they mainly play anime covers, Kotani Kinya covers and.. metronome covers!

This isn't a live report since I suck at that, but. Recently I've been buying alot of stuff.. Comfort shopping I guess. Haha
Here's some new things, and sorry if y'all tired of just reading about stuff I bought, heh.

New bag! Recently I've been having to switch bags all the time since I didn't have any good bag for all kinds of uses, but now I finally have it! Have been looking for a nice leatherbag for a while now, and this is just the perfect size for all occassions except maybe school.. Wich I don't have anymore, so all good!

Mum went abroad a while ago and bought this taxfree. It's my favorite perfume, and also the first perfume I ever bought. Usually celebrity perfumes suck, but this doesn't, and is Eau de Perfume! (EdT usually has a weird chemical undertone I can't stand..)

New skirt! Realized a couple of months ago that I don't really have a lot of skirts, wich is weird since I mainly wear dresses or skirts.. So whenever I find a cheap and nice one(this was 700yen!) I jump it.

Aaand my new bow, from a 100yen store.
Considering buying another one and make it an actual bowtie, instead of schooluniformbowtie.

My mind's a blank after this weekend that ended at 4AM this monday morning. Not going to school or working have made me into a vegetable.

Going out on Saturday I wore this. I have no idea why I choose leggings, but I've been freezing like crazy lately so I'll blame that I guess. Would've been better with OTKs.
Oh btw I'm totally digging the preppy style nowadays, I'm basically living in that blazer! Form-fitted jackets are awesome for my figure. I got rather obvious hourglass shape along with broad shoulders, so it compliments me.

Back from Fukuoka and shoeesss

So, I'm back from Fukuoka! Arrived last night, tireed, thankful that nothing had been tipped over in the apartment. *score*

Anyway
they had just opened a Shimamura and Avail (discount clothing stores that carry alot of stuff that goes with the trends of gyaru), so I went there, yah!
My haul was two pair of shoes!

Beige booties
3000yen, Avail

Red Low-heeled pumps
990yen, Shimamura

I realized after buying a pair of Randa shoes (approx 8000yen I think),
that.. while pretty, the quality sucks. And then I rather buy a pair of "nobrand" shoes for a quarter of the prize that will last just as long.
I will probably buy more Randa shoes, but seeing how much I love shoes and how much I actually buy them(It's barely april and I know I've bought atleast 5 pairs already), it's better if I stick with the cheap option.

So yesterday we arrived a bit after eleven at night to Fukuoka. Took about 5 hours by Shinkansen(damn that train is fast!).
We have this nasty habit of not booking hotels and stuff before going, so we had to search for a hotelroom in the middle of the night, thankfully we found a place, but just for the night, so today we gotta search for another place. All places we've looked up online are booked for Saturday Sunday so.. Yeah. let's see what happens!

I rock at packing btw, I took with me a good number of everything, skirts, tops, cardigans, panties. But socks and stockings? One pair of each, and I broke the stockings on the trip here, haha.

Instead of the usual religious books found in western hotels,
there was a manga depicting the life of some legendary guy here in Hakata, hahaha

Going south

I caved.
Like almost everyone else I'm gonna go away from Tokyo.
Me, my roommate, my neighbour and my neighbours boyfriend will be going to Fukuoka tomorrow(Thursday) or Friday. It's roughly 1000kms from Tokyo and it's like the only place completly unaffected so far.

I kinda came to realize the events disturbed me more than I originally thought,
today I started to experience earthquakes that didn't exist. If that isn't a sign of stress I don't know what is!

But we'll be back soon, and I'll probably update from Fukuoka too. I hope it's nice.

Yeah, so I guess you all already know about it.
It was indeed scary as hell.

Right now I feel lonely being calm about it.
Almost everyone I know is running away from Tokyo. Foreigners are going back to their countries, and some japanese people are if able going south.
The streets are rather empty. Compared to other citites there's alot of people, compared to Tokyo a week ago, it's really few.

I'm trying not to be online too much, that's why I haven't updated earlier,
it's kinda hard going online and see friend after friend posting "Leaving!", and some will never come back.

But I have an emergency bag packed and we've bought Iodine incase the radiation get's crazy.

Sorry the gloomy feeling, but it feels rather gloomy seeing everyone just root up and leave.

Gratuation (卒業！）

So, on the 9th I graduated from ISI Tokyo.
It felt awesome! But of course kind of sad since I've been going there from time to time(don't really wanna say daily, haha) during the last 18 months.

Directly after the graduation ceremony a bunch of us went out drinking, and the next morning straight from the party to school where I took the graduation test(missed it on monday) and after that I slept until today. Yeah.

Followed a friend home after school today, he made food and we watched the movie Easy A.
Lately I've just been laying at home doing nothing, so it felt nice laying in someone else's home doing nothing for once!

ISI Festa

Today, instead of ordinary school, we had the school's annual Speech Contest.
And this year, opposed to previous years, they had done it into a super long "festa".
6 hours!! Lots of speeches, and after that the new thing, performances!
Students got to perform with their different talents, so there were some chinese dancing, chinese koto, nepalese dancing, guitarplaying, aido, kpop dance routine (to Girls Generation) and.. a... techno/trance.. dj....yeah.. I don't even..
And they had also booked an actual band, called AUN who plays classic japanese instruments, check them out~

I admit it, I was sleeping through most of it..

Recently a heatwave have come to Tokyo and it's been very springish weather~
So last Friday me and my friends Malin and Ylva hung out by the river that passes our schools~
You gotta appreciate the hangplaces!

First time I tried Tokyo Banana goods! When I got to school one of the chinese guys called my name and threw this at me. Thankz!
It's quite common, atleast in my class, that people bring candy and such to give to the classmates. On Valentines one of the girls had brought a really upscale box of pralines that we all shared, and once I even got some strange chinese meat!

Cousin It came by for a while, also.

So, last Saturday I turned 20!
Crazy how fast time goes, this is my second birthday in Japan.

I celebrated it in Takadanobaba at the best Izakaya in the world, hahaha, with some of the best people in the world!

I unfortunatly went a bit too "all-in" with the celebration leading to bruised legs and no memories, but I have pictures! I have no idea what I said, what I did or anything, but I have a feeling I said "Another beer!" quite a few times.

But hey, how else to spend your birthday?(than in the presence of your friends, I mean. Of course. heh.)

Nails, Paris Kids 315yen. I really recommend Paris Kid's nails actually.
They are extremly cheap, and that's always a plus! Also, These are short, wich is good since I kinda have a hard time having the super long ones that are sold at Donki. You can buy short nails there too, but they usually go for about 2000yen.

Falsies, Daiso, 100yen / piece.
No.11 are my standard ones, that I always use. The two in the foreground are for layering.
I've never tried layering with half lashes before, so I decided to throw a pair in to see how it turns out~

Went over to Shinjuku today, to Video Market.
It seems like THE place to go to if you want live bootlegs of western bands, porn, and *drumroll* horror & Sci-fi.
My roomie is a horror junkie, I'ma Sci-Fi junkie, so alas.

Holy Freaking CRAP.

Jumped back and almost got a heart attack when getting off the elevator, and was greeted by a 2m tall freaking Alien! Scared the jeebus out of me.
The picture doesn't do it justice though, it's freaking scary.
(Kinda like the time in Ebisu when I saw Darth Vader standing in a window)

Unfortunatly the store had a meek selection of Sci-Fi, and they were kinda expensive since they were imported. I'll probably go back sometime though.
They had both "Let the right one in" and the remake "Let Me In" though, that was nice to see!
I don't at all see the reason of the obsession of america making remakes of foreign movies though, is it really that hard to read subtitles?
