Bye summer, I hate you anyway

This summer might just be the worst summer I have yet to have had. It's been painful, and like walking through syrup. But, now it's September, autumn. And hopefully it'll just go up from here. I'll just cross out the summer months from my memory forever, haha.

My only plan for this autumn is FUN. Having fun, doing fun things, feeling good.

First thing I did was to sign up for.... adult ballet classes!
Yeah!! I've gone to two lessons so far, and it's so so so fun and so so so rewarding. Going from a couchpotato to a ballet class, doing them pliés and twirls and whatnot really does a number on you. My muscles are sore for a week, and when they've just stopped hurting, BOOM, another class. But it's awesome.

I truly truly recommend anyone who reads this and have thought that maybe maybe ballet would be fun, DO IT. You're not too old, you're not too weak/fat/whatever! It's so rewarding!

In other awesome news, my friend exclaimed yesterday that it was time to go to Paris, and I couldn't agree more. So we're going on October 1st, for a few days of heavy smoking and coffee drinking. We won't be caring about the tourist things, so if you have any tips of some nice café with some good coffee, please advice! And my friend wants to eat a lot of food, so if you have any good restaurant tips, please share those too!

The summer might have been shitty but I'm not going to let autumn turn out the same way!

Everybody get's a second in the sun

The Kent concert this Saturday was awesome! I haven't seen them since 2008 when I saw them with my mother! The great thing about Kent is that there aren't a specific group of people listening to them, it becomes really apparent how big and widely loved they are when you are standing in queue for their concert. There's old grandmas, little kids, suits, indie kids, people wearing nothing but leather and spikes, girls with Chanel bags, in other words, a really diverse group of people, all loving the same band.
They have been said to be the band that captures the mind of a Swede, so I guess that's why.

Anyway! I got a surprise when I came to the entrance, the free ticket I had proved to be a VIP ticket! I didn't use "my priviledges" though, since as I understod it was just free champagne and standing in the VIP section, which was at the far back on a hill. But it still felt pretty sweet having the pass.

It'll be hanging looking smug in my room from now on.

And I finally went ahead and bought myself a t-shirt! I generally don't like band shirts because they are always made in that heavy cheap cotton with really tiny neckholes(and it's men sizes, but I have a hard time seeing a man get his head through that hole), but they were offering soft cotton shirts! Still men sizes though, so of course it turned out to be huge.

During the last song suddenly a combination of pyrotechnics, confetti and fireworks started!
The fireworks lasted long after the band had left the stage, and all in all it was all just so beautiful.

Gothenburgh O'Hoy

So, last Wednesday I hopped on the train with my friend Gabi to go to Gothenburg, for a chance to spend some time with our friend Zara before she goes off to Korea!
It was my first time in Gothenburg, and man oh man, the city! I really really enjoyed it there, and it was in overall just so.. pleasing to the eye. I'm an architecture geek, so all the beautiful houses just pulled my heart strings.

We went to an island a bit outside of Gothenburg, Marstrand, visited Liseberg(a theme park) and Universeum(zoo/museum/thingy) and walked and walked and walked around the city.

Wedding bells

So, yesterday was the second reason why I visited mom, some friends to the family got married! I don't do well in these kind of social situations, but it was rather nice, and I borrowed my cousins DSLR to take some photos for the bride and groom, thus taking on the roll as "photographer" rather than guest, and got to be left quite alone(because people hate cameras haha).
But I don't mean to sound negative, I was really happy to be invited, and we got delicious food and it was really wonderful seeing them beam together.

What I wore for the occassion! Quite blurry but I was in kind of a hurry.
/Rhyme master

Wedding cake! Woop woop, there were five of them, ranging from big to small.
They looked better than they tasted, haha.

Out of respect I don't wanna publish any face pictures, but man, look at the brides hair
Fo reals! I don't care much for strange bridal updos(they tend to look rather tight), so thiis, thiis, so much thiis. I'm so jealous of her hair it's unbelievable! It's all her own hair, too!
Disregard my excellent editing skillz.

One of the most beautiful bouquets I've seen to date!
The groom kept joking about how he had to insert the diamonds in the leeks when he planted them four years ago, and patiently wait for them to bloom. All without his wifes knowledge! Haha

A day in "town"

Today we went into town! Keep in mind "going into town" means traveling for an hour, haha. It was really nice, summer have finally come up here, so I unpacked a specially summery dress just for the hell of it! The town in question is really small, and thus there's nothing really to do there, but it's still more things to do and see than in our yard.. I guess!

I got to eat sushi for the first time since I came back to Sweden! A newly opened restaurant became the first restaurant in this municipality to offer sushi (and other japanese dishes).. Unfortunatly it.. wasn't really good. It's not that I'm spoiled by japanese sushi, because I've always prefered western styled, simply because they are just that, westernized. Lot's of salmon, "easy on the eye/mind"-pieces, and less brown-gunky-goo on top of rice. But this? Nah. But I'm giving the place the benefit of the doubt, they were just opened, we went during lunch time, and I'm kind of assuming the person doing them wasn't schooled in it.
It looked kinda pretty though, right? Btw, chives? And rom? On salmon? Huh?

Best thing of the entire day was without a douuuubbbt, the flamingo scarf!! I've been eyeing it for quite some time now, but today I finally had the money on hand to buy it! I grabbed it and ran! .. I payed inbetween those two actions though, of course. But seriously, it's so awesome! This is just a preview of the pattern (flamingos!!), I'll probably wear it alot.. It's really lightweight and soft, and Swedish summer can be quite cold, so I like to have a scarf along with me, haha.
One flamingo, two flamingo, a scarf full of flamingo!
I totally forgot to take any outfit pictures today though, I had to rush from the minute I woke up, going somewhere with people ages 50+ means going at 09.00, no matter what. What's up with that? Haha, they didn't even have plans for the day, but it was really important that we got out of the house by 9! Oh anyway, but I did take a detail picture of the dress, I think the pattern is really lovely! Lightweight chiffon ftw!

And hey, Swede's, don't forget about Mothers Day!

Good old platforms

Gwuahh! I was looking through my old stuff today, trying to sort things to donate/sell/throw away/keep, and I found my old platforms!
I bought them when I was 12-13ish I think, and I remember being so happy about them! I wore them everyday for about 3 years haha. It's a wonder they're still intact, but they've been on regular visits to the cobbler, I did my best to take care of them.

After I found them we we're going to town, so I decided to take some matching clothes. Unfortunatly I still suck at this whole outfit-picture-thingamajig (it was so much easier when I had other people to take them for me!), but the dress I'm wearing is the pink/black heart dress I posted about the other day~

Oh be still my heart!

My cold has finally ceased it's hold of me, but before it was even over I managed to wake up to a crick in the neck. Usually it goes away by itself in a couple of hours, but I've had it for 4 days now! I'm starting to fear I'll live my life like Kermit from now on.. You know, having to turn my entire torso, because I HAVE NO NECK.
Do anyone of you have any home remedies?
I've tried hot showers, massage, heatpacks, more massage, painkillers, even threats(!), but nothing seems to work :(

Picture time!

I'm not kidding when I say I don't do anything at all. I mean, obviously I do things like maybe watch the TV, read a magazine or something similar, but in reality I live a very isolated life in this village. Going grocery shopping or to the doctor is starting to feel as you know, winning a million at the lottery or something, haha. Ohgodi'msobored.

But I take pictures!

So this post will have some of that.

I actually watch my plants grow. Yeah.

I take pictures of the cats. You don't even wanna look into my phone, it's 95% pictures of the cats. This is Sixten.

I find stuff! Like this Swimmer watch that I had almost forgotten completely.

I tie bows on wedding invitations.

I photograph the shelf above my bed. The picture isn't crooked, my room is slanting. Yeah.

I take pictures of my things.

And I sit quietly for half an hour staring at does.

Fought for parcel

Uhh, one of the things I dislike the most about my current place of living, is that due to it being in the middle of nowhere, parcels and stuff takes much longer to arrive. If the shop says 2-3days, it usually arrives within 5-10.. Even EMS, which I was really pissed about, I mean, I pay extra for speedy shipping, and then it takes almost a week longer than it's supposed to? And it isn't even delivered, we have to drive for half an hour to pick it up :(

Uhh, okay, enough ranting! Reason for the rant? I ordered from H&M!

As usual, the kitty&photo rule applies, if you try to take a picture of your cat, it runs away, if you try to take a picture of something else, suddenly: CAT!! (The cat in the picture is named Pentax, and it's because she loooves photobombing)

Nothing over the top whootiwhoot, but man! I'm so happy anyway!

The reason I ordered this (and the yumetenbo order, tho it was partly my birthday present to myself), is as a reward. For what? Weight loss.
When I moved to Japan and started living with my roomie, he introduce me to his decadent eating habits, which of course resulted in a considerable weight gain for me, since I don't have the metabolism of a young man :( And all that white rice. Every day, white rice galore.
That's pretty much the reason why I suddenly stopped wearing light colors, and opted for dark shades. I just felt like the michelin man, and since I moved to Sweden I just didn't feel like dressing up at all, because everything was unflattering and impossible and after a while I just stopped trying.

So, in about January I decided to stop moping around being unhappy about myself, and just do it. Since then, I've lost almost 10kgs! I've actually only lost 9, but I hurried the reward for this time to combine it as a reward for doing two essays and being a total boss on two math tests, haha.
So, I get myself a reward for every lost 5kgs, just something, not running out buying a car or anything.

There's still quite a bit to go till I'm around my desired weight, and I can't really say I see any difference in the mirror(that's why progress pics are a godsend!), I still feel like dressing up more often. Of course I tend to ragequit in the midst of dressing because of reasons, but I still manage to put something together, put on some god damn full make up with lashes n all, style my hair and go out. Allthough my outfits are a mess right now, I'm torned between light colors and dark colors, and those parts of my wardrobe doesn't really match.. Oh well, I'll figure it out!

Long entry about uninteresting things, but.. well.

Fireworks and meat coma

Today has been great, but I'm in such a meat coma I can't think straight.
What I did was to go to the Sumida River Fireworks Show, and afterwards I ate Shabu Shabu.

Hoards of people waiting for their turn to watch the fireworks.

Kirin City in Ikebukuro!

First time I ate Shabu Shabu!

In total we ate 20 plates of meat. No kidding.

Virus, travels and velvet pumps.

So.. I've been quiet for a while. Biggest reason is the humongous virus my computer got that ate everything. Thankfully I managed to back everything up.. But still, stings a bit.
And the lesser one is that I'm going to South Korea tomorrow, but honestly that have nothing to do with me not blogging, since I haven't really started doing anything yet. I've written a list though! (If you got advice on what to do during a 4day trip to S Korea, please do tell).

Annyway, omg, shoes! Were looking at snaps the other day and this girl was wearing velvet platform pumps and my mind went "WANT!". And wouldn't you know, I found a pair just yesterday! 1890yen from Shimamura, I LOVE THEM.

Bolts and screws

Found myself a new companion the other day at Claries, a new robot to add to the family!
This time in the form of a cellphone strap.

Study time

Ylva exclaimed the other day that she needed a study buddy, and well, since graduation my japanese has been pretty much unused. So today we + Malin met up at Jonathans for some seriouz studying.

Family Restaurants are great for studying, the tables are often large, + for a small fee you can get "drinkbar" wich is basically all you can drink for as long as you stay.
Serious cake!

Cute coffee cups, they were all sea-themed.

Seriouz study Ylva. Unlike me, she was dressed to impress, as usual!

Nakano Nakano Nakano Nakano

Decided to try and be a bit more active, not blogwise necessarily but more.. life.. wise..
So I went to Nakano today with Malin, and was later joined with Martin.
Nakano is, really, a great place. Cozy atmosphere and so much different things. Clothes for all tastes (second hand shops, brand shops, military shops, etc etc), nerdy stuff, music(one of my favorite music shops is in Nakano, called Mekkano, there they have electronic music from all over the world), and much much more. When you're finished shopping it's also filled to the brim with bars, izakayas, host clubs, well, anything really.

Anyway! Did some shopping at my favorite places, and as usual I wasn't let down! Three dresses and a skirt for 2000yen alltogether!
Here's some of it.
Mint/White jersey dress. 500yen! Whaat.

From Claires, but still.

And todays outfit with an awkward pose!

And if anyone has some trick to make your shoulders NOT appear a mile wide in pictures, please do tell! (No seriously, my shoulders= WIDE. I look like superman when I don't balance it out with clothing/angles)

01 June 2011

Gettin ma nerd on.

Looking at this picture I realize how much a pair of circle lenses actually does for your look. It's my usual makeup, but without the lenses it doesn't look at all as extravagant.

Anyway, it isn't about the makeup anyway, it's about the hair! Trying, as usual to do something about it, but I have to say that this time I kinda like it. It maybe isn't the style I was aiming for, but, regardless, it's something else than straight hair!

(My roomies dekame btw, I was psyched he bought them, means I don't have to buy any myself, haha)

If you have any tips on what to do with .. hair. Please do tell, I don't know anything, haha.
