These boots were made for walkin'

(Haven't I made another entry with the exact same title? Go go imagination!)

Autumn is finally coming! All summer I've been waiting, patiently, biding my time. But now it's just around the corner! No more wasps, no more strong sun, no more hellish temperatures! I guess I'm quite transparent with my feelings about summer. The only nice thing is the midnight sun!

But, with autumn comes colder weather, and thus, boots!

I picked these two up today!

I've been eyeing the brown chelsea boots for some time, and they had a members only sale (just 50SEK, but anyway), so I thought it was time to strike!
I was originally planning to buy a pair of wellington boots, but unfortunatly my size had sold out in the style I wanted (pink with roses!), so I went for these black suede boots instead. Needed another pair of "easy everyday shoes", that I could bike in.. Uh, biking in heels..

All that's left now is for autumn to come! Some yellow leaves have already fallen!

Dying trends on sale

Summersale have started around the world, and the first to go was the pastels!
Spring is always the season to aquire pastel clothing, but this year it was booming so hard, you saw it everywhere! But as all trends, it's dying and in fashion that means it goes on clearance, haha. So I snatched some things up!

I've been gawking the varsity jacket and skirt for so long, and now they finally got on 50% clearance!
Cute tops, something I really lack. I like that they're sleeveless! I always wear a cardigan, and tops without sleeves means I won't boil during the summer!
Not a sales find, but look at the colors of the stones! It's a barrette, and I guess it's part of my "spice up the hair"-project.

A day in "town"

Today we went into town! Keep in mind "going into town" means traveling for an hour, haha. It was really nice, summer have finally come up here, so I unpacked a specially summery dress just for the hell of it! The town in question is really small, and thus there's nothing really to do there, but it's still more things to do and see than in our yard.. I guess!

I got to eat sushi for the first time since I came back to Sweden! A newly opened restaurant became the first restaurant in this municipality to offer sushi (and other japanese dishes).. Unfortunatly it.. wasn't really good. It's not that I'm spoiled by japanese sushi, because I've always prefered western styled, simply because they are just that, westernized. Lot's of salmon, "easy on the eye/mind"-pieces, and less brown-gunky-goo on top of rice. But this? Nah. But I'm giving the place the benefit of the doubt, they were just opened, we went during lunch time, and I'm kind of assuming the person doing them wasn't schooled in it.
It looked kinda pretty though, right? Btw, chives? And rom? On salmon? Huh?

Best thing of the entire day was without a douuuubbbt, the flamingo scarf!! I've been eyeing it for quite some time now, but today I finally had the money on hand to buy it! I grabbed it and ran! .. I payed inbetween those two actions though, of course. But seriously, it's so awesome! This is just a preview of the pattern (flamingos!!), I'll probably wear it alot.. It's really lightweight and soft, and Swedish summer can be quite cold, so I like to have a scarf along with me, haha.
One flamingo, two flamingo, a scarf full of flamingo!
I totally forgot to take any outfit pictures today though, I had to rush from the minute I woke up, going somewhere with people ages 50+ means going at 09.00, no matter what. What's up with that? Haha, they didn't even have plans for the day, but it was really important that we got out of the house by 9! Oh anyway, but I did take a detail picture of the dress, I think the pattern is really lovely! Lightweight chiffon ftw!

And hey, Swede's, don't forget about Mothers Day!

New Dresses

Everyone has different clothing that they bulk, my thing is dresses!
9 days out of 10 I wear a dress, so when I shop it's mainly for dresses.. Oh god, dresses, y u so awesome? Put on a dress, a cardigan, tights and some accessories and your done! No hassle, like when you use bottom/tops, having to match them together..

So, here's the dresses I got while being down south! I really love the denim one and it was what I used on walpurgis night. We went to some hipster club called Färgfabriken (The Color Factory). I'm not really a club person, but it was really nice hanging out with my friend, and meeting her friends!
The denim and heart dress are from H&M, the shirt dress is from att. but I thrifted it ;D
The shirt dress kinda reminds me of those uniforms voluntary nurses used to (still uses?) in america.. Or maybe it's just in movies?

Destiny gave me 10cms of snow and a raging cold as soon as I got back home, so I'm just lazying about, drinking silver tea with ginger in it.

I did try to paint my hair the other day, tumblrs/youtubers might have stumbled upon that whole "put oil pastels in your hair yay!"-thing that went on, and I finally decided to try it out. Turned out pretty nice I think! Non-damaging, easy to wash out. I think I'll keep doing this!

Patterns

All I'm doing lately is thinking about superficial things, but I think it's better if I do that right now really, haha.

Anyway, presented in just one image! An outfit from the other day, the new leggings I found on sale, and the pattern on a trunk I got off an auction site that I intend to use for travel, I'm so tired of my wheelie :(

Amazing dress and new protection

I decided to try and be serious about you know, pictures and stuff, use the camera instead of the phone. But then I found out that I seem to have dropped my camera one too many times on the floor, because the quality wasn't really that much better! Which sucks, it used to be a really good camera..

Anyhow! I'm super psyched about this dress! It's from the swedish store Gina Tricot, and a while back they had this dress in pretty much every color there is, and I used to own it in lavender. Unfortunatly, due to it being my go-to dress during several years it had become so ratty I had to throw it away when I moved from Japan.. But fortunately there is loads of people who doesn't understand the greatness of this model of dresses, so theres bunches of them on auction sites! This became mine for 6SEK!(approx 100yen), + shipping! Can't argue with that, seeing how it's seemingly never been worn at all, haha. And you know, it being THE BEST DRESS MODEL OF ALL TIME. Of all time. That I tell you.

When we went to Strömsund, we also did the mandatory visit to tThe Dollarstore, which is exactly what it sounds like, a dollar store. I think it's exclusive to the north of Sweden, or atleast it used to be. It's basically the go to place if you want cheap anything.
Stumbled over this silicone case and I've been looking at similar ones online, but for more than double the price than this one was, haha.

Hopefully a silicone case will help protect my phone better, as mentioned above I have a tendency to drop electronics on the floor repeatedly, and after six months I just discovered the first crack in the screen..
It's amazing it's still intact though, seeing how I've dropped it multiple times a day since I got it..  Well, knock on wood that it wont fall apart on me.

29 March 2012

Wacko

Went to Strömsund the other day, and visited their red cross shop! It's really small but there's always something nice there haha.
The outfit of the day, + bonus cat!

Seemingly I'm back into buying platforms! I used to buy pretty much every pair I saw in thrift stores back in the days, but it was a long time ago! When I saw these though I just couldn't leave them.

I also found a pretty nice case for glasses, so now I can finally stop worrying about my sunnies!

15 March 2012

Thrifting

So I'm back south for some "vacation", haha.
It's really nice to escape the dull country life for some town action, even though we don't really do much here either, but atleast you can do something if you feel like it!
So, yesterday we went to some local thrift stores! Unfortunately so did the rest of the town, so we didn't stay long.. I found a pretty nice cardigan tho!

Also, I'm gonna try to get back to posting outfit pictures again! Yesterday's was kinda dull though, but I'm only just starting to get back into it :)

Fought for parcel

Uhh, one of the things I dislike the most about my current place of living, is that due to it being in the middle of nowhere, parcels and stuff takes much longer to arrive. If the shop says 2-3days, it usually arrives within 5-10.. Even EMS, which I was really pissed about, I mean, I pay extra for speedy shipping, and then it takes almost a week longer than it's supposed to? And it isn't even delivered, we have to drive for half an hour to pick it up :(

Uhh, okay, enough ranting! Reason for the rant? I ordered from H&M!

As usual, the kitty&photo rule applies, if you try to take a picture of your cat, it runs away, if you try to take a picture of something else, suddenly: CAT!! (The cat in the picture is named Pentax, and it's because she loooves photobombing)

Nothing over the top whootiwhoot, but man! I'm so happy anyway!

The reason I ordered this (and the yumetenbo order, tho it was partly my birthday present to myself), is as a reward. For what? Weight loss.
When I moved to Japan and started living with my roomie, he introduce me to his decadent eating habits, which of course resulted in a considerable weight gain for me, since I don't have the metabolism of a young man :( And all that white rice. Every day, white rice galore.
That's pretty much the reason why I suddenly stopped wearing light colors, and opted for dark shades. I just felt like the michelin man, and since I moved to Sweden I just didn't feel like dressing up at all, because everything was unflattering and impossible and after a while I just stopped trying.

So, in about January I decided to stop moping around being unhappy about myself, and just do it. Since then, I've lost almost 10kgs! I've actually only lost 9, but I hurried the reward for this time to combine it as a reward for doing two essays and being a total boss on two math tests, haha.
So, I get myself a reward for every lost 5kgs, just something, not running out buying a car or anything.

There's still quite a bit to go till I'm around my desired weight, and I can't really say I see any difference in the mirror(that's why progress pics are a godsend!), I still feel like dressing up more often. Of course I tend to ragequit in the midst of dressing because of reasons, but I still manage to put something together, put on some god damn full make up with lashes n all, style my hair and go out. Allthough my outfits are a mess right now, I'm torned between light colors and dark colors, and those parts of my wardrobe doesn't really match.. Oh well, I'll figure it out!

Long entry about uninteresting things, but.. well.

07 March 2012

Hong kong and Paris

No, not traveling, merely the new nail polishes I bought.
I'm starting to believe I am the only one buying nail polishes around here, because the display seems untouched every time I go there, haha.
But that's nice too, I don't have to be afraid of my favourite shades selling out!

School is taking up most of my time lately, but thankfully it'll be over in may.

Forever21

For my birthday I got some things from f21 from my mum, and it's only know I realise the irony, haha.
I'm really happy that they opened up for the European market! They really grew on me during my stay in Japan, and how couldn't it, it's cheap and cute!

And a random shot of the top part of my desk(that my dad did himself!), because I thought it was (rather) tidy and nice for once!

New bag and pastel pumps

My birthday present to myself was a Yumetenbo order!
Finally I have my hands on a 3way bag, and two pairs of lovely pastel pumps!

Kitty kitty

Short nonsensical post about my totally awesome new t-shirt! Kitty face! Kitty kitty kitty!

Ps: I got a new header too!

Recent gets

I update so seldom nowadays! That sucks, and I should do something about it. I guess it's because I don't really use my laptop anymore, the poor thing has gone unused because of the iPhone. And the blogger app kind of sucks, so..

Well it's soon Christmas! I'm going back home after a visit in the south tomorrow and I'm looking forward to spending Christmas with my mum again, this'll be the first time in two years!

I'm working on getting school out of the way, and by the looks of it I should be able to have finished pretty much everything by spring, but I'll have to take language courses someplace else since my municipality doesn't offer any.

Anyway, as the title suggested, here's three recent gets!
Between Christmas and new years it's swedens craziest sale, but since I don't think I'll be able to go to a city during that time I did some shopping at the pre Christmas sale.

15 November 2011

Long time no shopping

And also, long time no updating. Slumping hard lately, it's hard not to when living in the middle of a forest, and the highlight of the week is going grocery shopping, haha.

At my dads place now though, and we went to the local mall! The only positive thing with living with my mother is that I don't have to use my money for bills and rent.. So I finally got to do some shopping! Woo!

And yes, that IS a white bowler hat, and I think it's absolutely amazing!

Shirokuma madness

Just went out and bought a bucket load of one of my favorite beauty products! Shirokuma eye plasters! But the majority isn't for me. My mom told her friend about these and how much I raved about them, and asked me to buy her a bunch!

I'll do a review about them, or well, post before and after pictures! I haven't used them for a few weeks to let my dark circles come back in order to properly show the effect..

Shopping therapy

Came up with the wonderful idea to show away the feelings about leaving Japan!
Or, well, to shop for autumn. If I'd stay stay in Japan I wouldn't be able to wear anything autumny until perhaps October, but now, I'll be able to wear it in two weeks!

Went by g.u (oh how I will miss thee lowcost shoppingparadise!!), and bought two pieces that I've already planned for. These will go completly unused until the day of arrival. They'll both be in my carry on luggage, ready to be taken out and worn as soon as I hit Swedish ground.
They might not look like much, but they're both made in "cashemere touch"(closest to the real deal I'll get!), so it'll be comforting to have something warm and snuggly, I believe!

The cardigan is rather big/long, so I'll throw in a thin belt and voila, ready!

As usual I amaze my surroundings by having death fights with vacuum bags to be able to fit my stuff into boxes to ship off, while at the same time buying more things with the mantra "I'll bring these in my bag, I need these for fall/winter!".

30 August 2011

Fall wants from F21

Surprisingly enough, the brand that has grown the most on me while living in Japan is not a japanese brand, but an american! Forever21 doesn't have stores in Sweden, and the shipping costs are crazy, so I never really experienced F21 until moving here, and it quickly became a place were I did alot of my shopping. Unlike other overseas brands(like H&M), F21 is still reasonably priced and have a lot of simple, cheap and cute pieces to put together.

Fall is coming up, so I decided to make some collages of things I wouldn't mind wearing!

One other thing I'd add, is loads of dark green stuff. I've been completly obsessed with that color lately, but I have yet to find some nice things sporting it.

Doing this reminded me I need to go by F21 someday before leaving.. Just about 2 weeks left now!

29 August 2011

New notebooks and small towns.

Even though I don't go to school at the moment, I bought two new notebooks the other day! They're so pretty, and were just 100yen/each, so how could I resist?

Vintage labels and old maps!

And yesterday I somehow found myself at a concert. Upon arrival I found out that the bassist of the band we were there to see works at my konbini. The levels of embarrassment/surprise is through the roof! That man has seen me buy chocolate in the middle of the night, in my pajama, without makeup. Dancing, superdrunk, sick, dressed as a goth, etc etc. And now suddenly he was a real person, in a band that I was about to see. The situation was rather awkward, but he turned out to be a really cool guy, and his band really good!
Luckily for me, when people heard that he worked at "My konbini" at the after party, he was the one being bullied, not me.
Tokyo is indeed a small town, sometimes.

18 August 2011

Hallelulejah, blogger works again!

The guests left early this morning, and well, during their stay we watched 3 seasons of Friends. But we also went to Disney Sea, which is always awesome! No pictures from that since well, I've posted a bunch of that already since previous visists.

Instead, here's a few things I've bought recently.

Oh man I love these shoes. Shimamuras Sorridere shoes is the BEST. SO comfortable!

Corduroy shorts I've been oogling lately.

Although it's shorts, it's actually autumn shopping. I'm trying to buy some bits and pieces before my return to Sweden since I anticipate winter clothes to be in the stores when I get back. And also because it's easier to find good stuff here, haha.

Kind of messed up with the shorts though, just grabbed the corduroy shorts in what I thought was my ordinary size, but tried on the red ones and realised, I'm a size smaller than before! Of course I forgot to change the corduroy ones for a smaller size..  I like the baggier look on the corduroy ones, tho.
Was really surprised, seeing how I haven't been dieting or anything. I guess it's because I'm not harrassing my psyche with the scale and the constant "I can't eat this! There's stuff in it!"

Showing just a little bit is my awesome Harry Potter t-shirt, that is awesome enough to get much more space on it's own, in a later post.
