Paris in October

Woh, such a long time since the last update.
I haven't even been up to anything.

But, Paris (where I went a month ago), was amazing and everything I expected and more. But then again my expectations was probably not as high / romantic as usual..

I'm quite proud over us, we only took the metro once! And that was to get to the shuttle bus to the airport. We walked all over Paris, for hours and hours and hours on end, and saw so many strange little alleys and shops and people eating baguettes..

Here's some pictures with text!

I was happily surprised over all the amazing graffiti! This was on the ground.

Monseuir Penguin!

No filter or anything, in a nice park somewhere behind the Louvre I believe.

Suddenly along our stroll Notre Dame appeared!

More fun wall art.

Even more! Bad quality, but it was really amazing!

Okay, so I mainly took pictures of street art.

"OMG a place with my name!!"

"OMG what a strange name for a bar!"

Conclusion of the trip was that I neeeeeed to go back! Even the cheapest café au lait was amazing. And so were the people! Nice bunch, them french.

Bye summer, I hate you anyway

This summer might just be the worst summer I have yet to have had. It's been painful, and like walking through syrup. But, now it's September, autumn. And hopefully it'll just go up from here. I'll just cross out the summer months from my memory forever, haha.

My only plan for this autumn is FUN. Having fun, doing fun things, feeling good.

First thing I did was to sign up for.... adult ballet classes!
Yeah!! I've gone to two lessons so far, and it's so so so fun and so so so rewarding. Going from a couchpotato to a ballet class, doing them pliés and twirls and whatnot really does a number on you. My muscles are sore for a week, and when they've just stopped hurting, BOOM, another class. But it's awesome.

I truly truly recommend anyone who reads this and have thought that maybe maybe ballet would be fun, DO IT. You're not too old, you're not too weak/fat/whatever! It's so rewarding!

In other awesome news, my friend exclaimed yesterday that it was time to go to Paris, and I couldn't agree more. So we're going on October 1st, for a few days of heavy smoking and coffee drinking. We won't be caring about the tourist things, so if you have any tips of some nice café with some good coffee, please advice! And my friend wants to eat a lot of food, so if you have any good restaurant tips, please share those too!

The summer might have been shitty but I'm not going to let autumn turn out the same way!

Forest day

Today, me and my roomies took our bikes and biked for a total of 10km's, out to the forest! This is from when we we're waiting for their friends, standing in the middle of nowhere(but they had bike paths!).
So.. much... moss..And under the moss, puddles, and more puddles. My socks were dripping when we got home.
Too busy taking pictures, so I kept falling behind.
And the reason for it, chanterelles! We swede's be crazy, biking for 10kms, trekking in the forest, getting our shoes wet and battling mosquitos. But we got 10litres all together!

Mitaka day

I went to the Ghibli museum today, can't really say anything about that. It was fun though, but I'm not really a ghibli fan(gasp! Blasphemy!) so that whole "omg I'm in a Miyazaki movie!"-trance didn't really grab me, haha. If you like Ghibli however, I'd recommend it!
Afterwards we stumbled around Inokashira Kouen for a while, and ended up in Kichiouji, it was the first time I was there, and there I'd really like to go back!

Anyway, pictures from the day. Photography is prohibited inside the museum but it's allowed on the roof, where the Laputa robot is, so that's pretty much what I have.

Inokashira Kouen pond

Reminds me of the barns where my mum lives.

Suddenly, Kichiouji!

Back from Korea

So, on friday night I came back. It was a nice trip, and especially nice to meet some friends I haven't met since the eartquake!

I suck at doing touristy things when touristing, but I did see two statues, and went to Myeoung Dong(the tourist trap of Seoul).
The rest of the time was spent in Hongdae and Dongdaemun (recommended).
I won't write about it really, but if anyone has a question, just shoot!

Anyway, picturees(stuff I bought will be in another entry):

Mandatory wing-shot.

Travel company, Siouxsie and the Banshees

Amongst the malls/markets in Dongdaemun.

Completly legit restaurants.

Early morning in Hongdae.

Insanely true words in the menu of a Swedish-themed restaurant.

Virus, travels and velvet pumps.

So.. I've been quiet for a while. Biggest reason is the humongous virus my computer got that ate everything. Thankfully I managed to back everything up.. But still, stings a bit.
And the lesser one is that I'm going to South Korea tomorrow, but honestly that have nothing to do with me not blogging, since I haven't really started doing anything yet. I've written a list though! (If you got advice on what to do during a 4day trip to S Korea, please do tell).

Annyway, omg, shoes! Were looking at snaps the other day and this girl was wearing velvet platform pumps and my mind went "WANT!". And wouldn't you know, I found a pair just yesterday! 1890yen from Shimamura, I LOVE THEM.

Kyokutou Girl Friend and Sayonara Party

So last saturday me and my roomie went to see the band Kyokutou Girl Friend at Holiday Shinjuku. Since they are disbanding rather soon they have a weekly live thing, and we went to volume 2. Other bands playing where, トーマス(thomas), ヴィデオグラマァ(video glamour), LIPCHLICH, ドクターマルモット(Doctor Marmot), F’Ar÷EAST†KANφJO(Kyokutou Girl Friend alterego band), コドモドラゴン(Kodomo Dragon). First band was the KGF alterego band, wich was rather entertaining since they came up in early Visual Kei type of costumes (orange wigs, too much black makeup etc) and did some covers of that kind of bands.
Since it was Kyokutou Girl Friends event, the rest of the time was waiting. 6 hours of waiting to be exact. I had great hopes for both Doctor Marmot and Video Glamour but none of them were as I expected, so I was kinda disappointed.
When finally Kyokutou came up on stage all I could think was "I'll be going home soon!!", but disregarding that it was fun seeing them again, seeing how it was a bit over 2 years since I last saw them.

Kyokutou Girl Friend "Doku" Mask (Doku means poison).
Oh how we hassled the staff woman, seeing how Martin wanted to buy fifty-eleven copies of everything they sold, haha.

After the concert, when I thought I was going home, we instead ended up going to an acquaintances Sayonara party, she's going back to Korea. It was fun and cozy as it always is(they usually have homeparties in her guesthouse). Me and my roomie decided to walk home instead of taking the train, and somehow the less than an hour long walk ended after 7 hours, walking all around the northwest part of Tokyo.

I know everyone has probably seen this already but I think it's funny!

So that was a lengthy post about nothing in particular!
My everyday life right now is a rollercoaster of one moment having so much doubts about myself(I barely graduated junior high, and now I'm trying to get a job?), to being super confident(nothing matters but willpower! I can do it!).

Short trip to Koenji

Went to Koenji yesterday with my roommate, in search for an art book shop, he was looking for some books by a japanese guro artist, wich we found, and wich quite surprised the people working there. "You know about this guy? But how!"
I found some interesting stuff there myself, that I'll probably go back to get someday.

Anyway, yesterday there was a lot going on in Koenji, hula dancers, clowns, and all different stuff were out, so it was good fun.

But the best part was the birdman!

(approx. 3m tall!)

Ameyoko

Today we took a trip over to Ameyoko(market street from Ueno to Okachimachi). It's always fun going places you're not used to, and Tokyo's so big theres like a million of those places.

Anyway, I found something I've been lusting for a really long time,
a silver ring with amethysts!
Finally it's mine!

In Fukuoka

So yesterday we arrived a bit after eleven at night to Fukuoka. Took about 5 hours by Shinkansen(damn that train is fast!).
We have this nasty habit of not booking hotels and stuff before going, so we had to search for a hotelroom in the middle of the night, thankfully we found a place, but just for the night, so today we gotta search for another place. All places we've looked up online are booked for Saturday Sunday so.. Yeah. let's see what happens!

I rock at packing btw, I took with me a good number of everything, skirts, tops, cardigans, panties. But socks and stockings? One pair of each, and I broke the stockings on the trip here, haha.

Instead of the usual religious books found in western hotels,
there was a manga depicting the life of some legendary guy here in Hakata, hahaha

Going south

I caved.
Like almost everyone else I'm gonna go away from Tokyo.
Me, my roommate, my neighbour and my neighbours boyfriend will be going to Fukuoka tomorrow(Thursday) or Friday. It's roughly 1000kms from Tokyo and it's like the only place completly unaffected so far.

I kinda came to realize the events disturbed me more than I originally thought,
today I started to experience earthquakes that didn't exist. If that isn't a sign of stress I don't know what is!

But we'll be back soon, and I'll probably update from Fukuoka too. I hope it's nice.

02 February 2011

Holy crap

Went over to Shinjuku today, to Video Market.
It seems like THE place to go to if you want live bootlegs of western bands, porn, and *drumroll* horror & Sci-fi.
My roomie is a horror junkie, I'ma Sci-Fi junkie, so alas.

Holy Freaking CRAP.

Jumped back and almost got a heart attack when getting off the elevator, and was greeted by a 2m tall freaking Alien! Scared the jeebus out of me.
The picture doesn't do it justice though, it's freaking scary.
(Kinda like the time in Ebisu when I saw Darth Vader standing in a window)

Unfortunatly the store had a meek selection of Sci-Fi, and they were kinda expensive since they were imported. I'll probably go back sometime though.
They had both "Let the right one in" and the remake "Let Me In" though, that was nice to see!
I don't at all see the reason of the obsession of america making remakes of foreign movies though, is it really that hard to read subtitles?

10 January 2011

Oh my, this day!

This day has been so exhausting in so many ways.
Woke up at six, got nearly choked to death, combined with violent hugging when being dressed, wanting to chop off my feet, beeing surrounded by hordes of people wanting pictures.

But it's been a wonderful day.
What day it was?
成人の日! Or, Coming of Age day, and I participated!

Too tired to write something coherrent, and sort trough the pictures,
but here's the mandatory purikura!

Stay tuned, tomorrow I'll make a real post about it!

04 January 2011

Sightseeing

Since Zara's here visiting, we're doing some sightseeing. I've never been interested in it, but Zara is, so to most of the places it'll be my first time too, haha.
But today we went to Asakusa, saw the temple, the market, ate the food.
I even got a fortune! However it was so bad, so I quickly tied it away, and just in case I bought one of those good fortune bags (I'm so bad at the terms on these things!)
After that we went on the Sumida Boat Cruise (highly recommended, if you to like ride a boat. I do.) and then off to Harajuku.
Omg I'm exhausted.

And, well, no pictures from it since, well. Everyone knows Asakusa. It's probably the MOST photographed spot in all of Tokyo, haha.

Instead, I give you todays outfit!

Leopard jacket: JSG (lucky pack)
Knit: H&M
Skirt: Honeys
Bag: Gal Fit
Grumpy Face: Priceless

I'll try to get a shot of my outfit every day this week, let's see how it goes!

A sneaky peak

I will write tons about this, just not now.
Please wait a month, and you'll get to know more than you wanted to!

Japanese souvernirs

One thing I truly enjoy about Japan is souvernirs. There's so many, and so strange!
It seems fun to collect too, a friend in school collects Stitch(disney)-straps from different locations, and I'd love to do the same, allthought themed Marie things isn't so popular it seems..

But at FujiQ I bought this matching couple!
My roommate wanted something cheap and fun as a souvenir, so I got this. The reason it's the both of them is because I wanted one too, haha

S/M Fujisan!

22 November 2010

Rain and disappointments

FujiQ was a disaster. We went there in spite of rain, and the reward was that everything was closed.
Ya, really. The haunted hospital, the teacups & The Merry-Go-Round was all that was open(apart from "Go and look at cards!Wooh!" kinda things). Soo. Yes.
Also the piggy tights managed to escape during the night, and I was unable to find them this morning.. Gonna take a shopping day or something soon, so I'll be able to post about them then!

Bought a lipconcealer from Canmake the other day, and I can't decide if I love it or hate it.
Pale lips kinda gives me a bratty-vibe, since the brats(or Fjortisar) in Sweden luvz the palelip.

So, do I look like a douche or is it passable?

On a positive note, I found a supercheap nailsalon the other day that I'm indenting to try out in the next two weeks! Around 4000yen for gels! I really just want simple ones anyway, so I think it's great. It'd be awesome having superlong superdeco'd nails but.. housework.. Hoow?

04 November 2010

I wanna go to disney seaaa!!! It was awesome going there during presummer, and I think it'd be even more awesome to go there during autumn/winter!
Then I could buy an awesome hat or something..

In other news I've just been laying in bed. I have some wicked headache that surface as soon as I move :(

Mejiro Japanese Garden~~

Today I finally got to go to Mejiro Japanese Garden! It's like 2 minutes away from my apartment, but the opening hours are kinda wonky, but today after school I finally got to see it!
Despite what the size looks like from outside, it feels HUGE. I guess it's the landscaping..
Snapped a few pictures of it, though! (And autumn is finally coming!)

Whipped cream pouring like waterfalls!

You see how huge it looks?? And yet on the outside it's about 50m x 50m or something.

And with autumn comes my favorite thing in japan. Kairo!
We don't have these in sweden, but it's basically small bags with some kind of carbon in them, that when you rub it starts a reaction wich makes the bag really warm (about 50C). It's perfect in the cold months~
Bought a cute Minnie Mouse Kairo cover today at Seven Eleven~

24 September 2010

Full day! Ueno zoo!

Ahh, today was awesome! Allthough the sky was filled with rain that just wanted to pour, it still was a very nice day at the zoo! Very cold, though.
We didn't walk through the whole zoo, since last time we were there we missed one half, and that's the half we took this time! Giraaffes! :D
Afterwards we went to Harajuku, took some purikura and I found the shoes of my dreams! Going back for them tomorrow I hope. And even after that off to Ikebukuro and some cheap Izakaya goodness. Aaaand I finally bought new fakenails! :D

Pictures in chronological order!

Mouses in the mini petting-zoo

Jackass penguins, no really it's their name!

Giraffe

Lizard ride! (who cares about hair when they're on a zoo??)

Purikura!

Izakayaa~~

Fancy naaails!
