A day in "town"

Today we went into town! Keep in mind "going into town" means traveling for an hour, haha. It was really nice, summer have finally come up here, so I unpacked a specially summery dress just for the hell of it! The town in question is really small, and thus there's nothing really to do there, but it's still more things to do and see than in our yard.. I guess!

I got to eat sushi for the first time since I came back to Sweden! A newly opened restaurant became the first restaurant in this municipality to offer sushi (and other japanese dishes).. Unfortunatly it.. wasn't really good. It's not that I'm spoiled by japanese sushi, because I've always prefered western styled, simply because they are just that, westernized. Lot's of salmon, "easy on the eye/mind"-pieces, and less brown-gunky-goo on top of rice. But this? Nah. But I'm giving the place the benefit of the doubt, they were just opened, we went during lunch time, and I'm kind of assuming the person doing them wasn't schooled in it.
It looked kinda pretty though, right? Btw, chives? And rom? On salmon? Huh?

Best thing of the entire day was without a douuuubbbt, the flamingo scarf!! I've been eyeing it for quite some time now, but today I finally had the money on hand to buy it! I grabbed it and ran! .. I payed inbetween those two actions though, of course. But seriously, it's so awesome! This is just a preview of the pattern (flamingos!!), I'll probably wear it alot.. It's really lightweight and soft, and Swedish summer can be quite cold, so I like to have a scarf along with me, haha.
One flamingo, two flamingo, a scarf full of flamingo!
I totally forgot to take any outfit pictures today though, I had to rush from the minute I woke up, going somewhere with people ages 50+ means going at 09.00, no matter what. What's up with that? Haha, they didn't even have plans for the day, but it was really important that we got out of the house by 9! Oh anyway, but I did take a detail picture of the dress, I think the pattern is really lovely! Lightweight chiffon ftw!

And hey, Swede's, don't forget about Mothers Day!

When you're 21 your no fun

So I've turned 21!

This Friday my friend treated me to the cinema as an early birthday gift, so we saw The Phantom Menace in 3d!
Last time we saw it was when it came out(12 years ago, omg), so it felt kinda nostalgic.

Bought my favourite cake and totally indulged haha! But hey, birthdays are always an exemption from diets and such.

I'm for once kinda excited going back home, because my bd gift to myself is waiting for me!
New shoes and a bag, I'll post pictures when I get back. It was my first time ordering from yumetenbo!

Oh well, I'll go back to listening to ladytron - seventeen now, haha.

Fireworks and meat coma

Today has been great, but I'm in such a meat coma I can't think straight.
What I did was to go to the Sumida River Fireworks Show, and afterwards I ate Shabu Shabu.

Hoards of people waiting for their turn to watch the fireworks.

Kirin City in Ikebukuro!

First time I ate Shabu Shabu!

In total we ate 20 plates of meat. No kidding.

Fika at Madam Blå

A couple of times when we've gone on day trips to places like Disney or Aquariums, we've transfered at Tokyo station. Almost everytime we walk past this little café called "Madam Blå", but we never had time to find out what it really was, and why it had a swedish-sounding name.

When we went to Disney last week, for once we had time to go get some coffee there!
Turned out it was a Danish/Scandinavian café, with some classic Scandinavian meals!
We didn't have time to actually eat there, but saw in the menu that they had crisp bread, different scandinavian salmon dishes etc. And the coffee they used was Swedish!
On the pricey side though, so I guess I'll resist swedish food until I go back.

Scandinavian kitchen vibes.

Picture Monday!

My roomies friends came to Japan yesterday, so these two days we've been going around in Ikebukuro with them. Too tired to think, so here's pictures!
The ducklings in Mejiro Garden have grown big!

Mouyan Curry, best curry in Tokyo!

Cravings from the motherland

It's raining, the kind of super wet rain that soaks you from just looking at it, and a typhoon is seemingly on it's way. Because of that I don't really have anything to do but think about...
Candy!

Some things all swedes, when moving abroad, misses the most is probably Marabou Chocolate, crisp bread and pick & mix candy. I miss all of them, alot. However, both chocolate and crisp bread is available at IKEA, and it's rather easy for family/friends to send.
What I really really miss is the candy. Even though I sometime get some sent to me, it's just not the same, you know? It's the whole feeling about it, mixing your own bag, to fit just the kind of candy cravings you have right then. And it's cheap, too. Last time I checked it's about 1000yen for a KILO of candy.

However, I have indeed encountered pick & mix candy here in Japan though. But, well, not the same really. You can choose from a whopping 5 different candies(!), all hard candies, and you can put them into a tiny teeny little bag, and then it costs 160yen.

Well, better than nothing I guess.

A pretty standard swedish pick&mix candy aisle.

Japanese pick&mix. (it's about 10cmx5cm)

The day of arrival!

So Zara has finally come!
Managed to miss my stop on the way to Narita because my favorite yoghurt of all time (only available in Sweden) showed up on the tv-screens in a commercial and I .. yeah, blacked out kinda. Thankfully her flight was delayed, unfortunatly it was by an hour, and with the time customs take, I waited for quite a while!

But now she's here, and we decided to go easy on the first day and just stroll around Ikebukuro a while~

My hood!

Takoyakii

Our plan was to eat Shabu Shabu, but it didn't open till five, and when we got there 2 minutes to five, there was like.. 75 peope queuing.. Ehh.
So we thought, curry! And went to the fancy curry restaurant. It didn't open until six.

Ended up on an Izakaya, cheap and easy way to show Zara some japanese dishes!

Christmas pictures

Today I'm spending the day cleaning and making the apartment look nifty, for tomorrow my friend Zara comes to visit me from Sweden! Yay!
Also I'm sulking because I can't go out bargainhunting :(

Anyway!

Haven't posted any pics from christmas, so here they come!

This is actually from before christmas, more exactly, the last day of school! We were making decorations for the school's christmas party, and I tried my hand on origami, and might I say I quite mastered it! (I was like the only one who managed to make rather normal looking santas, haha)

This is actually rather horrible! I was trying to climb up and look for the christmas ornaments, and when I was about to fall down.. did my friends help me? NO! They took pictures, wtf? This generation is so destroyed XD
(Note: They did actually help me down after this photo)

"Yo yo dawg, I herd u liked christmas, so.. " I never did find the christmas ornaments, that's why there's just random glitter on the tree.

Wooo, Swedish christmasfood!
Potatoes, Meatballs, little wiener sausages, red onion,
mustard, smoked salmon and in the foreground is the fabulous christmas ham!

And that was christmas!
And if I haven't mentioned it, my gifts was:
Brown Liz Lisa muffler with golden pin to pin it togheter
The union jack sweater from JSG
Sweet lil' robot necklace
and surprise gift from my friends boyfriend, a mug set with Mickey and Minnie for me and my roomie!

No pictures though, cause I'm lazy and haven't taken any! ( you can see the robot necklace on pupe, and the JSG sweater in a previous post)

Cutest furry little drink EVARR

Picture quality have improved thanks to my Father, who gave me money to buy a new camera for christmas! (Canon IXY 200F)

Rejoice!

I'm back to my normal non-yellow skintone!
So, today onwards, makeup is being uuused yeaaah!
Eh. Anyway, the point being that I'm pepped about making an effort now,
so expect pictures and stuff and.. stuff.

Bought a bag today, I'll let you all dangle in suspense for pictures till tomorrow.

Oh, and a tip. Don't waste time/money on Mr.Donut!
Never been disappointed at sweets before this.
Looks good, tastes.. Nothing.
(This applies to the one in Higashi-Ikebukuro, next to Closet Child)

BANANAS!

Not intending to make this a housewife blog, but holy sh-!
Around 2kgs of bananas for 380yen!
I'll never talk badly about Shin-Okubo again!

Going on a shorts quest to Harajuku tomorrow, will hopefully update with fancy things afterwards!

Tokyo Dome City!

Today, after school me and some other people went to eat, as a belated celebration of Sabrina who's birthday was yesterday. After the meal, we went to Tokyo Dome city!

Even though it was raining, and because of that everything was closed/closing, we still managed to go on some attractions!
My favorite was the simulator, "Tokyo Rush Panic" or something like that. And it was by far the most advanced simulator I've ever gone on! It was moving along some rails, and was in 3d! Reaaally cool.

Most of the time we were just standing in some kind of fountain with lights in it, getting wet to the bone... Haha.

Also went on a truly spaced out attraction, Pixie Cups. Basically the good ol' Tea Cups, but on mushrooms. Think neon lights, strange music, your own prerecorded voice morphing, and some staff playing tambourine and flute. All while spinning. Round and round.

The only true thing! Popping Shower!

Unfortunatly, Burma the fat Birma ate it all..

(If you've noticed a slight quality improvement it's because I realized my cellphone camera has a Digital Camera setting.)

15 April 2010

Future career in the blooming.

Met up with Ylva after school in Shinjuku, to eat Takoyaki.
Takoyaki eating extended to Udon eating, Purikura and shopping(for her).
I've somehow becomed blocked, I don't know what to buy.
I do know that I really want a lace hoodie I saw in a store the other day, it'd be perfect for summer since I don't like showing my arms~

Oh, I dyed my hair yesterday!
Heres a puri of doom to show it:
If you can't read it, it says:
Date
Tentacle Pornstars
たこ焼き食べに行こう!
(Let's go eat Takoyaki!)

I made a short video of the Takoyaki since it was scary. I'll post it sometime.

Sakura madness

Went to Ikebukuro for a bit today, were going to see Cult Fiction at Cyber, but we made it just for the last song..

Went to starbucks, where they were having Sakura-craze(as.. all other japan..).. The sakura frappucino was delicious!

It's my birthday pt2

After a brief get togheter in me and Martins apartment, we went on to the bar Current, where it was a valentines party~~

Allthough! They did give me cake, a veryveryvery pretty cake, I was so surprised ;o;
Usually when bars/schools/whatevs gives you cake it's kinda halfassed. THIS WASNT.
BEHOLD!:

And, posing with the cake(Ylva's pimpin' it up):

All in all it was a wonderful night, all though I might have drunk a bit too much. But still fun! And nothing a painkiller wont take care of, haha~

Cake, magic(one of the bartenders entertained me with his tricks when I was sitting alone), good friends. What more could you ask for?

Thank you Sushi, Mogi, Masami, Mame of Current, Ylva, Sabrina, Malin, Martin, Jasmine, Max, Amanda, Arianne, and all others who made it so awesome!

13 February 2010

Ello ello

Been spending a lot of time in Harajuku lately, haven't been there for months and then POW, two days in a row!

First day was to find Ylva some fancy heels, and the other day was to buy some underwear!

One thing I love about Japanese underwear = They look awesome. It's really hard to find those boring beige ones. Bad thing is that the sizing is a bit small, but, most of the stores have bigger ones.. not ENORMOUS ones, but still. AND! They are still pretty! In sweden, all the bras in my size are like.. enormously ugly. Or really plain..

Anyway!

It was my birthday yesterday, 19 blazing years! Awesome presents!
My guy gave me an Orb-necklace >
In school, my classmate Emma surprised with... HOMEMADE CURRY! And.. even more epic.. HOME MADE CHOCOLATE TRYFFELS! Insane.

Filling

It snowed in Tokyo last night~

Since I don't know what to write, here's some pictures at the ice-cream and milkshake I ate at Milkyway some time ago! Deliisssh

25 January 2010

chooocoooolaaatee

Since my Annoying Aunt Therma is on visit(for you who haven't watched the show "IT Crowd", my.. uh. lady week.), I'm craving chocolate like a mad man.
Eating loads of it.. And.. Drinking it!

Suntory has released a chocolate soda!

Weird thing is, it doesn't taste like poo, it actually tastes like.. chocolate.. Weird.
Real chocolate... For you that have tasted Ghana's Milkchocolate, it tastes EXACTLY like it, only in liquid carbonated form!

06 January 2010

Sushi!

Ah, so, yesterday was eventful. Or something! (but fun!)

Started out with two guys from Yamada Denki, coming to deliver our new TV that we in secret bought last Sunday.

Keeping it a secret, I later went out togheter with Malin and Ylva to eat some Kaiten(Rollerband sushi, the food goes round round round), and there we found the most delicious piece of sushi to be invented!! Shrimp, with something that really looked like bearnaisesauce, but didn't at all taste like it. But it was heavenly. I also managed to get the most poorly tapped beer ever, I kid you not, 5centimeters of foam? (I don't drink green tea, so when at those places I mainly order what they have, beer.)

Hence, Purikura!

After I left to prepare the TV for Malins surprise (Me and Martin decided to surprise here with a "hey wanna come over and see a film/play videogames? :D"), I heard that Ylva and Malin took more Puri, and dedicated one for me! As soon as proof exist, I'll post it everywhere! I am the greatest. walrus. etc.

Puri:

When we all had came home, the TV was set up, be watched The Corpse Bride, played Super Monkey Ball, and I fell asleep while Malin and Martin played One Piece Battle Treasure(?), it's like Mario Party but with One Piece, anyway~~

I'm sick :'( So I'm gonna try and use the fact that I'm not naturally platinum blonde and try to turn on the gamecube to play chibirobo. (No, i've actually never had to do that yet. Spoiled and blonde. What a stereotype.)

20 December 2009

Ikea, Lolita and Homemaking!

So, yesterday we went out to Ikea out in.. Chiba? (I don't know, CLOSE TO DISNEYLAND, atleast!). Me, Martin, Malin and Ylva, we were supposed to be 5 more though, but, the others fell out for different reasons.
However we did get a mail about three hours into the IKEA visit from the three guys that were coming, and they told us "are you still there? We're almost in Yokohama!". I believe we scared our fairshare of japanese people there, because Malin read it out loud and then we all paused for a second, to burst into uncontrollable laughter. Jeez. Chiba and Yokohama is in different directions, completly.

The reason for going to Ikea was to buy swedish food, for christmas! We did however also take a stroll through the usual IKEA, and of course, took the chance to eat some swedish food in the restaurant!
We mostly bought candles though. Scented candles, that smelled of christmas!

I also took this day to wear Lolita for the first time, in public, that is. T'was nice except that I kept worrying about my white cape..

Pictures!!!

"Outfit rundown"
